Professional Expertise

Jay Nichols is a Managing Partner with Catalyst Retail specializing in the representation of landlords and tenants in their expansion and development needs.  With a strong understanding of current market dynamics, Jay is a strategic advisor to his clients and always represents their best interest.  Prior to joining Catalyst, Jay was a Vice President at Cushman & Wakefield and a Vice President at Lee & Associates in Riverside. He was part of a team with more than 25+ years of experience in leasing shopping centers and serving as a strategic advisor to retail clients in the Inland Empire.

After graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University San Diego, Jay worked in Washington, DC as a media relations representative for the Republican National Committee.  After his time in politics, he returned to California for a short stint in brokerage before joining a multi-family developer, CWS Capital Partners, in Austin, Texas.  He spent three years with CWS as a project manager, where they built eight student housing projects and half a dozen apartment communities throughout Texas.  In 2010, Jay again returned to California, where he spent a year flipping homes in the Inland Empire before joining Voit Real Estate Services’ retail team.  Jay’s experience with leasing shopping centers and representing his tenant has helped him build the relationships needed to be a leader in the market and in his industry.
